Phosphorus is a vital component of animal feed, being necessary to promote healthy growth and bone strength, as well as maintaining other aspects of the animal’s metabolism to ensure weight gain and fertility.
Natural feeds such as wheat, barley, maize, soy and beans provide the primary form of nutrient supply for animals, however these are relatively low in nutrient content and typically contain only 0.2-0.5 % phosphorus. For this reason, they are supplemented by Di Calcium Phosphate which increases the rate of development of the animal.
Phosphate rock, a naturally occurring fluoro- apatitic mineral, is the raw material source of phosphate in fodders.
Di Calcium Phosphate represents a concentrated form of both phosphorus and calcium that can be safely used to boost the nutrient content and phosphate bio-availability of feed formulations.
